By Dave Barr
Join Dave Barr, a rugged, extraordinary adventurer as he recounts his trip around the world on a 1972 Harley Davidson…despite the loss of both legs from an antitank mine explosion in Angola in 1981. Dave shares how he became the first person with a major disability to cross the Sahara Desert, circle the continent of Australia and negotiate the Andes during avalanche season. Dave Barr’s story is both courageous and inspiring.
Impressive round the world trip by a double amputee raising awareness of charities for the disabled. The book would have benefitted from better editing but the authenticity, determination and courage shines through. An amazing adventure and one of the true classics. The second book is called “Riding the Ice”.
