However I am not a normal accountant and being sat in an office with the boss at the time being told “You are not different or special you have to do this and that,” in almost a sick parody of the scene in the 1999 film the Matrix where Neo as Mr Anderson was being told off by the boss for being late Though I cannot say it was a bad place to work actually in that the bosses did seem human at the very least and were civil and would speak to you and be frank. I have worked in places where the boss didn’t even talk to you and all communication was done by post-it note. A meat packing place I spent a few months working at in between decent jobs in Plymouth I never saw the boss and after doing a ton of overtime for him I left him a note on his desk saying:
“Can I have a pay rise?” The next day when I came into work, there was a similar note on my desk, it read:
“No, you can’t.” You’d have thought he’d be able to spell properly as the boss of such a company, wouldn’t you?
