Determined to prove Helen Keller was right when she said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing,” Brian set off in June 2010 on the biggest challenge of his life. His plan was to ride the Pan American Highway from Alaska to Argentina to raise money for the Northampton Hope Centre. He wanted to challenge himself and step out of his comfort zone so decided to do the journey solo. Given that his motorcycle maintenance skills were zero and his ability to speak Spanish was limited to ordering beer, he expected to be tested. The journey turned out to be much, much more demanding than he ever imagined. It tested him physically, mentally and emotionally for 8 months, through 15 countries and 20,000 miles.
