Sam Allen has been traveling Route 66 for over 25 years. Sam had never been on a motorcycle until he bought his first Harley-Davidson Road King in 1996. Later that year he rode over 3,500 miles from Houston to the Sturgis motorcycle rally and back. Since then he has been to Sturgis over 10 times and has ridden his bike to every major motorcycle rally the United States. He rides over 20,000 miles a year, and has ridden through all of the lower 48 states and over 2,500 miles through Canada. Sam is a member of the Iron Butt Association, which sponsors extreme motorcycle rides, including the Bun Burner Gold, which requires a rider to go 1,500 miles less than 24 hours. He once completed two Bun Burner Gold rides in a single month. In 2002, Sam founded the Deacons of Deadwood Motorcycle Club. The Deacons started with 13 businessmen, and now has over 100 members.
