The author rides through Midwest America hearing echoes from Walden and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and looking for answers. At one time on motorcycle trips, if he focused right, he experienced an aliveness in his surroundings—the way music is alive. He’s trying to find this life again. But he’s struggling. His clues are such small blips on a ride that has some pretty messed up parts.
