Like everybody else, I knew about Cancer, but it was something that affected other people, not me and was never part of my own family’s history. When my favourite dog, Charlie, tragically died of bowel cancer, it brought all kinds of sad memories flooding back, of my friends and my girlfriend’s father, who had also died of prostate cancer. It was when I decided to act. My first ride in 2014 was for Charlie and my friends Harry, Jim, Darren, Alex, Chester, John, Paul, Andy. I repeated my pilgrimage in 2016 and 2018. I wanted to share my experiences with those who’ve supported me in my efforts to raise public awareness of this disease and give hope to the many who are battling on. Also for the beautiful people, I met along the way and their amazing courage in the face of extreme adversity.
