From the time Ted Simon set off around the world on his Triumph, aged 42, his life has been literally an open book. In his best-selling Jupiter’s Travels, and everything he has written since, no-one could be more forthcoming about his thoughts and feelings. Yet almost nothing is known about the life he led before that epic journey. So that his grandsons and his readers may know him better, here are the earlier “interruptions” of a rich and varied life.
